ICMR JRF Exam

ICMR JRF, or Indian Council of Medical Research Junior Research Fellowship, is granted to applicants who need to seek postdoctoral courses with the assistance of this association. ICMR JRF Syllabus

The ICMR JRF exam happens in 3 stages. The candidates are free to select a subject of their choice from the Sections B & C. Section A is a common test for all the candidates which will have aptitude based questions.

ICMR JRF Exam Pattern

 The exam pattern to attain the ICMR fellowships as we know consists of 3 sections divided by section. The first section A will have aptitude based questions and sections B & C are based on optional subjects aforementioned.

The Time allowed to solve this exam is 2 hours.  As per the notification of ICMR, the candidate is only allowed to solve any 75 Questions from section B & C. Any candidate attempting all 100 questions, in their answer paper, only the first 75 questions will be considered. Board has also defined negative marking for wrong answers given by the candidate. The candidate will lose 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. 1 mark is allotted for correct answers.

 ICMR JRF Eligibility Criteria

The ICMR has laid certain eligibility criteria that the candidate has to fulfill before applying for the ICMR JRF fellowship. Mentioned below are the basic educational and age criteria for the applicants

Age Criteria

  • The upper age limit for the candidates applying is 28 years as on 30-09-2020

  • The maximum age relaxation of 5 years is allowed for the SC/ST, PwBD, and female candidates and 3 years of age relaxation for the OBC candidates

Educational Qualification

·         MSc/MA or equivalent degree with minimum of 55% (for general /EWS & OBC)

·         MSc/MA or equivalent degree with minimum of 50% (SC/ST & PwBD)

·         Candidates giving their final year exam in 2019-20 will also be allowed.
